KARACHI: The gold prices in Pakistan surged to a historic high on Wednesday, reflecting a sharp upward trend in both local and international markets.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of gold per tola rose by Rs4,300, pushing it to an all-time high of Rs486,162.
The association further reported that the price of 10 grams of gold increased by Rs3,687, reaching Rs416,805.
Meanwhile, in the international market, gold prices climbed by $43, trading at $4,638 per ounce, contributing to the record surge in domestic rates.
Earlier, the continuous rise in gold prices across the country shows no sign of slowing, according to market sources.
The All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association reported that the price of gold per tola has increased by Rs 900, reaching Rs 481,862 in the domestic market.
Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold rose by Rs 771 to Rs 413,118, the association said.
Meanwhile, in the international market, gold prices also moved upward, increasing by $9 to $4,595 per ounce.
Market analysts attribute the surge to fluctuations in global prices and currency trends, with further volatility expected in the coming days.
