Noor Jehan was born on 21st September 1926 in Kasur.

She first worked for British India and then moved to Pakistan.

Her career tenure spanned for more than 6 decades.

Ye lo haari piya, ja ja ja bewafa, Jiara tarse, and others were one of her renowned songs.

She started her career in the film industry at the age of nine and soon became a recognized child artist.

Her real name was Allah Wasaai whereas Noor Jehan was her filmy name.

Noor Jahan dominated the film and music industry for more than 35 years. She had sung songs for Urdu, Sindhi and Punjabi films.

Legend personality Noor Jahan had died on 23rd September 2000 as she suffered from illness.
