K-pop band BTS attains the MTV video music award for ‘Best Pop’

Popular K-pop band BTS won each of the four honours it was nominated for at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday.

Before the ceremony, BTS was named the winner of the best group award, as well as the recipient of the best K-pop video for ‘On’.

During the show, the fan-favourite group won in the categories for best pop and best choreography, also both for ‘On’.

“Love you!” the seven-member group said in unison in a pre-recorded video statement to its fans that aired during the pre-show broadcast.

In winning in the best pop field, BTS emerged victorious from a group of nominees that also included Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande, Halsey, the Jonas Brothers and Justin Bieber.
