Jannat Mirza Supports PTA Move To Ban TikTok
Pakistan's leading Tiktoker Jannat Mirza has supported Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA)'s move...
On Saturday, famous TikTok star Hareem Shah requested Prime Minister Imran Khan to uplift the ban from TikTok immediately as the decision has disturbed the Pakistani TikTok community.
While addressing the press conference in Karachi today (10th October) Hareem said,
“We can only request and urge the PTI government to unban TikTok and the rest depends on the government.”
“Prime Minister Imran Khan got elected on youth votes so he should listen to genuine demands of the youth,” she added.
Hareem Shah said,
“I don’t want to talk on the issue of the veil but I must say men should also show some decency.”
It should be mentioned here that the Chinese video-sharing app was blocked in Pakistan on Friday after the app administration did not remove inappropriate content from the video-sharing app.
According to the Pakistani Telecommunication Authority (PTA), the app did not pay any attention to its requests,
“PTA gave considerable time to respond and comply with the Authority instructions for the development of an effective mechanism for proactive moderation of unlawful online content. However, the application failed to fully comply with the instructions.”
