Leading Pakistani film and drama actress Mahira Khan has said that women will continue to be abused until there is no law supporting the oppressed, or until the domestic violence bill is passed.
Mahira Khan’s statement regarding passing a bill on domestic violence against women came to light.
In her statement, addressing the PM she called for the passing of a bill on domestic violence saying, “Now please please get the domestic violence bill passed.”
Mahra Khan said that as long as there is no law, women will continue to be victims of abuse. She also stressed the need for accountability and ownership.
