Royal foreign travels were put on hold as the epidemic threw travel arrangements into disarray.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are presently on a seven-day official tour to the Caribbean after restrictions were lifted.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle went on two royal tours together as working members of the Royal Family.
The first was a 16-day journey to Australia and New Zealand in 2018, during which the pair squeezed in 26 formal engagements, including visits in Fiji and Tonga.
It happened after Meghan revealed she was 12 weeks pregnant with her baby Archie, and she managed to keep up despite the rigorous schedule.
Despite the formal meals and royal obligations, Harry and Meghan reportedly managed to “slip away” for a “totally covert evening” in Sydney on a double date.
They spent their time off with Meghan’s best friend Jessica Mulroney and her husband Ben, according to the memoir Finding Freedom, where they dined on a luxurious five-course supper prepared by a private chef.
The book claims: “In Sydney to take on engagements and host the fourth Invictus Games, Harry and Meghan managed to sneak out for an evening off with Jessica and Ben Mulroney, the latter of whom was covering the Games for Canada’s CTV network.
“A real estate billionaire loaned them his home for an intimate and completely secret evening with a five-course meal prepared for a private chef.”
Royal tours are no longer a part of Harry and Meghan’s lives; as they retired from the royal family in 2020 and now reside in California with their children Archie and Lilibet.
However, the pair did make a series of public appearances in New York City in September, which some equated to a royal tour.
It was Harry and Meghan’s first public appearance since they left their positions as senior royals and relocated to California, as well as Meghan’s first public appearance after giving birth to daughter Lilibet.
