Lil Nas X deserves birthday greetings!

On Saturday, the “Old Town Road” singer turned 23 years old, and he celebrated with a series of amusing tweets.

“Don’t hate me,” he added, “but this is a collective thank you to everyone who is wishing me a happy birthday.” “This is for everyone, so no one can claim that I didn’t thank you. Okay, I’m going to tell it right now.”

“Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, EACH AND EVERYONE. You can’t claim that I didn’t say anything!” Lil Nas X has been added to the mix.

“Having a birthday party tonight and I really hope my team was able to get an Alvin and the Chipmunks performance or I would be terribly upset,” the rapper quipped of his planned birthday celebrations.

The “Montero (Call Me by Your Name)” singer also greeted R&B artist Jazmine Sullivan on her 35th birthday, which she celebrated on the same day. At this week’s Grammy Wins, Sullivan took home her first two awards, for best R&B album and best R&B performance. Lil Nas X tweeted, “@jsullivanmusic hbd twin.”

The singer-rapper performed a mix of singles from his first album, 2021’s Montero, during the 64th annual Grammy Awards in Las Vegas.

Lil Nas X walked backstage after playing “Dead Right Now” in a glistening black cape-like garment, as a film montage played for the audience, underlining the controversy surrounding the music video for his much-discussed hit, “Montero (Call Me by Your Name).”

Along with tweets and news stories critical of the song and video flashing onscreen, newscasters’ voices could be heard slamming “Montero” for its risqué religious and sexual undertones.

He performed his song “Industry Baby,” which featured an appearance by fellow rapper Jack Harlow in a different attire, before moving to the previously alluded to title tune.

At this year’s Grammy Awards, Lil Nas X was nominated for five awards: album of the year, record of the year, song of the year, best melodic rap performance, and best music video.

In September, the singer teased his first album with an over-the-top pregnant picture for PEOPLE.

Lil Nas X then returned on stage wearing a crop top adorned with diamonds.

“”I was like, ‘Oh my God, this is great,’ so I phoned my stylist right away,” he stated after hearing Megan Thee Stallion’s verse on his song “Dolla Sign Slime.” ‘Wow, this all comes together,’ she said. It’s your album. ‘This is your child.’ ‘Yeah, this is my baby, huh?’ I said. ‘Yeah, you should do a pregnant shot,’ she said as a joke.”

Lil Nas X also arranged a delivery video in which he “gives birth” to his album when it was ultimately launched.
