Abrar-ul-Haq, a Pakistani artist, has finally been granted credit for his classic song Nach Punjaban, which was featured in Karan Johar’s recent production JugJugg Jeeyo.

Taking to Instagram Story, the famed Indian director released a fresh version of the track’s poster, which featured Haq’a’s name beside Tanishk Begehi.

Both have been given credit for the song’s music and lyrics, which will be released on YouTube today.

This comes after Haq publicly chastised the filmmakers for exploiting his famous song without his consent or authorization to use it.

“I have not sold my song Nach Punjaban to any Indian film and reserve the right to sue for damages,” the Billo hitmaker posted on social media, before adding, “Producers like Karan Johar should not utilise plagiarised tunes.” This is the sixth time my music has been duplicated, and it will not be tolerated.”

T-Series later issued a statement refuting the singer’s accusations.

“We have legally acquired the rights to adapt the song Nach Punjaban from the album Nach Punjaban, which was released on iTunes on January 1, 2002, and is also available on Lollywood Classics’ YouTube channel, which is owned and operated by Moviebox Records Label, for the film JugJugg Jeeyo, which was produced by Dharma Productions.”

Furthermore, Varan Dhawan, who co-stars with Kiara Advani in the next film, chimed in on the controversy surrounding the dance routine.

“T-series has issued an official statement stating that the rights have been legitimately licenced. I believe that when you have worldwide firms such as YouTube and Spotify… They have highly tight copyright regulations when they play music. It is not a joke. All procedures have been followed “According to IANS, he stated.
