Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s animation project, which is in development with Netflix, has a release date.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex inked a multimillion-dollar deal with the streaming behemoth in September 2020, and the couple has failed to generate material to honour its obligations two years later.
In the midst of all, Meghan’s animated series ‘Pearl,’ about a 12-year-old girl, has been passed over.
“Like many girls her age, our protagonist Pearl is on a journey of self-discovery as she struggles to conquer life’s daily hardships,” Meghan said of the programme.
“I’m happy that Archewell Productions, in collaboration with Netflix’s tremendous platform and these outstanding filmmakers, will offer you this new animated series that honours extraordinary women throughout history.”
According to Deadline, the film, for which Meghan served as executive producer, was still in the planning stages.
