Nick Jonas focuses on fatherhood after having his first child with Priyanka Chopra

Nick Jonas is speaking up about his first year as a father. Jonas reflected on fatherhood during a Monday morning appearance, telling Hoda Kotb and Carson Daly that “life is great.”

In January, Jonas and his wife, Priyanka Chopra, had their first child, Malti Marie, via surrogacy. The newborn girl spent more than 100 days in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) before Jonas and Chopra announced on social media that she had returned home on Mother’s Day.

Jonas stated about Malti, “She’s a gift, and we’re just very blessed.” However, Jonas and Chopra’s Mother’s Day greeting included the first photo of their kid. “We can’t help but think on the rollercoaster we’ve been on over the last several months, which we now know, many others have also experienced,” Jonas and Priyanka said in their post.

In the social media post, the former Disney Channel star also referred to his kid as a “badass.” At the moment, the actor wrote, “Let’s get it M!” “Mommy and Daddy are proud of you.” Prior to welcoming Malti, Joe and Kevin Jonas were proud aunt and uncle to Willa, Joe’s 1-year-old daughter, and Alena, 8, and Valentina, 5, Kevin’s two kids. (Joe, 32, and his wife Sophie Turner are expecting their second child.)

Malti and Chopra had made no secret of their wish to start a family before Malti’s arrival. Six months before their December 2018 wedding in India, the former beauty queen told People, “I certainly want to have kids.”
