Dwayne The Rock Johnson, a ‘hero’ to YouTuber Logan Paul, is no longer speaking with him following the 2017 ‘suicide forest’ event.

Now, in a recent True Geordie Podcast interview, the YouTuber opened up about the incident, calling it one of the “saddest times of his life” when the WWE icon requested him to remove all of their images and videos together.

Paul received a lot of flak after posting a video from Aokigahara, Japan, in 2017.

Some refer to the area at the base of Mt. Fuji as the “Japanese Suicide Forest”, where Paul and his crew discovered the body of a deceased man. Netizens chastised Paul for the offensive video, which generated a significant backlash.

Paul revealed what transpired after the controversy, saying, “After Japan happened, I obviously found myself in a hole, rightfully so, that I had never been in before. Extremely low, mentally, and I got a call from my publicist, who also repped Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. She’s like ‘Hey, Dwayne has asked that you remove every video and picture that you’ve done with him.

“Maybe in the future, the relationship can be reconciled, but for now, he basically wants nothing to do with you.’ Which I also understood. I get it. I made a grotesque error”, via ET Canada.

The YouTuber went on to say that receiving such a reply from his “idol” was heartbreaking. Logan deleted the video from his account after the 2017 uproar and issued a public apology.

Prior to the issue, the two appeared in multiple viral videos together, including one in which Paul visits Johnson on the set of the 2017 film Baywatch.
