Kenneth Petty Nicki Minaj husband was first detained by Beverly Hills authorities in November 2019 when it was discovered that he had migrated from New York to California without declaring his status as a sex offender. After that, he was freed on a $20,000 bail.

However, it was found that he was still being held on comparable federal accusations stemming from a different arrest in March 2020.

The accusation arises from a 1995 incident in which Petty pleaded guilty and was found guilty in New York of first-degree attempted rape. After the event, he was sentenced to four years in prison.

“Defendant has been completing sex offender registration documents for nearly 20 years,” the filing stated. “Over the course of two decades, he was repeatedly warned that if he moved to another state, it was his responsibility to follow any local, city, state, federal, or international laws regarding registration.”

Federal prosecutors are now urging that Petty serve 15 months in jail, five years of supervised release, and pay restitution of $55,000 (£45,000). The hearing to determine his sentence is set for July 6.
