Russian oligarch donated $3 million to Prince Charles’ charity
After receiving $3 million in donations from a Russian tycoon with connections to Vladimir Putin, Prince Charles’ charity found itself in hot water once more.
Moshe Kantor, who was listed on a “Putin list” made public by the US Treasury in 2018, reportedly donated the sizeable sum to the Prince’s Foundation, according to sources in the Daily Mail.
The UK imposed sanctions on the North London-based millionaire in April as a result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
While giving more than £15.5 million to British organizations, Kantor has been establishing his connections with the Russian President.
The 68-year-old businessman and Putin have been photographed together seven times, including in January 2020 at the World Holocaust Forum, where Charles also gave a keynote address.
At the gathering, Kantor was spotted speaking with the British Prince.
The Prince Foundation received a second instalment of the enormous payment from Kantor’s organization that same year.
The first instalment of a pledge for £ 3 million that would be paid over ten years was made in 2019.
According to the source, the charity’s trustees would have made the decision to accept this money, as is the case with all donations.
