Chiranjeevi and Nayanthara are the main actors of GodFather. The movie has Salman in a cameo. The Malayalam film Lucifer, which starred Mohanlal, was remade as the Telugu movie. As part of the movie’s promotion, Salman and Chiranjeevi spoke at a press conference in Mumbai on Saturday.

During the press conference, Salman told Chiranjeevi, “Your films are being accepted here but our films aren’t accepted there.” This prompted the south star to say, “We are here to take you. This is one of the reasons why I asked Sallu Bhai to come through in this film.”

While Bollywood films have underperformed during the past 12 months, a number of films from the four South Indian industries—Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam—have performed well in north India. Some, like the Kannada film KGF: Chapter 2 and the Telugu film RRR, have even performed better than all of the Hindi films during that time.

According to a report, Salman also discussed how the cross-pollination of skills may help the film sectors. “People want to go to Hollywood, I want to go South. The thing is once you start working together, just imagine the numbers we will all have. That is the main thing that people watch it here, people watch it in the South. You have all the theatres, fans, go and watch him, me. Even they become my fans, we become his fans. Everyone just grows and grows and the numbers become really large. We say ₹300 crore, ₹400 crore. If all of us get together, we can cross ₹3000- ₹4000 crore.”

The movie GodFather, which was directed by Mohan Raja and was made by Ram Charan, R. B. Choudary, and N. V. Prasad, tells the tale of a mystery figure who rises to power when a political leader passes away. On October 5, the movie will be screened in theaters.
