Salman Khan wishes ‘Bhai Dooj’ to fans with his shirtless picture
At a press conference for the movie, Salman Khan, who will shortly make his Telugu film debut with a cameo in GodFather, discussed the continuing conflict between south films and Bollywood. The actor talked about how Bollywood films struggle to acquire pan-Indian acceptance. Whereas movies from the south have no trouble doing so.
During the press conference, Salman told Chiranjeevi, “Your films are being accepted here but our films aren’t accepted there.” This prompted the south star to say, “We are here to take you. This is one of the reasons why I asked Sallu Bhai to come through in this film.”
While Bollywood films have underperformed during the past 12 months, a number of films from the four South Indian industries—Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam—have performed well in north India. Some, like the Kannada film KGF: Chapter 2 and the Telugu film RRR, have even performed better than all of the Hindi films during that time.
The movie GodFather, which was directed by Mohan Raja and was made by Ram Charan, R. B. Choudary, and N. V. Prasad, tells the tale of a mystery figure who rises to power when a political leader passes away. On October 5, the movie will be screened in theaters.
