The real-life father-son combination will portray father and son in Howard Deutch’s forthcoming family drama Blood Knot, almost 20 years after playing father and son in Kirk Douglas’ 2003 drama-comedy It Runs in the Family.
“Blood Knot” is based on Looking Through Water, a book by Bob Rich that came out in 2015.
Deutch called Blood Knot a movie about second chances, love, and forgiveness.
Deutch, who is 72 years old, said in the release that the book is “about how mystery, murder, and real confessions bring and tear apart generations of a family.” “The castle owned by Michael and Cameron Douglas.” “I can’t wait to get started on Blood Knot.”
Blood Knot is the first movie that Michael, who is 78, and Cameron, who is 43, will work on together since Cameron got out of prison in 2016 after almost eight years in jail for drug crimes.
Cameron, who is in a relationship with Vivian Thibes and has a 4-year-old daughter named Lua and a 22-month-old son named Ryder, told PEOPLE in 2019 that he was trying to get back into acting and was very grateful that his family had never given up on him.
Michael said, “I’m very proud of Cameron, not just for the book but also for the way he lives his life.” “He follows through on what he says he will do.”
