Gal Gadot remains Wonder Woman
Gunn and producer Peter Safran were named the new co-CEOs of DC Studios in October. This month, more information came out about some of the changes they plan to make to the comic book properties in the future. Aside from the confirmation that Henry Cavill is no longer playing Superman in Justice League, there were also reports that Wonder Woman 3, which was supposed to be the end of her standalone trilogy, was cancelled.
Gunn, who is 56 years old, responded to a commenter on his Instagram post on Monday. The person said that Gunn and Safran “made the move to boot Cavill and Gadot,” which “doesn’t inspire confidence” in the future of the DC Universe.
Gunn wrote, “I don’t know where you got the idea that we “booted” Gal.”
Gadot’s representative didn’t answer request for comment right away.
Days before news came out that the future of Wonder Woman 3 wasn’t clear, Gadot, who is 37, wrote on social media that she “can’t wait to share her next chapter” with fans. She went on, “I’m so thankful that I got to play such an amazing and well-known character, but I’m most thankful for YOU. The crowd. They have the best, kindest, and most loving fans in the world. I am still pinching myself to see if I will wake up.”
