LeAnn Rimes needs time to get better.

The country star said on Wednesday that she was rescheduling two shows because she “cannot sing” because of a bleed on her vocal cords.

In a handwritten letter posted on Instagram, she said, “It breaks my heart completely and utterly to tell you that I will have to reschedule my shows this weekend.” “While I was sick with the flu, my doctor found a bleed on my vocal cord, which was caused by my violent cough. I am getting better, but I am unable to talk or sing… doctor’s orders!”

She went on, “I’m so sad that I have to do this because I was really looking forward to spending the holidays with you. Please check your emails for information about the new time, and I’ll see you soon.”

In the caption area, she said that her Ryman show would be rescheduled for April 8, 2023, and her Riverside Casino and Golf resort show would be Sept. 29, 2023.

The gigs were part of Rimes’ JOY: The Holiday Tour, which began Dec. 2.

She’ll restart the tour in Lincoln City, Oregon, on Dec. 16 and 17. Her tour ends Dec. 18 in Airway Heights, Washington.

As a child, Rimes thought 40 was old. “Now that I’m there, I feel so old. Wiser. I’d rather not be 22 again.” The singer also prioritizes her health.

Rimes’ self-care routine includes breath work and meditation. “Part of my existence has been ignoring my body because I had to always be on. So long, I’ve cared what others think. Not sacrificing myself and my needs is a significant change.”

She said the album tackled “shame, remorse, hatred, and anger.”
