Mary McCartney, the director of ‘If These Walls Could Sing’ spoke exclusively about the unexpected ways her father Sir Paul McCartney supported the Disney+ initiative.

When Mary McCartney decided to interview her father for the Disney+ documentary If These Walls Could Sing, she probably had this thought in the back of her mind. But when considering Abbey Road Studios’ legacy, this father-daughter team offered tales that will make your ears sing.

In a special interview with Francesca Amiker, Mary said, “I just learned so many things that I didn’t know,” “I didn’t realize the diverse range of music that had been recorded there.”

Mary set up a “calm and conversational” atmosphere for her subjects before sitting down with Paul and the other Beatles to talk about the creation of some of their best hits. Things would come together gradually but certainly, producing a unique documentary.

“I was very lucky,” Mary added. “I had a reference point historically where he could give me little nuggets of information about Abbey Road when I was researching it.”

Additionally, Paul continued to demonstrate his support in his own special way after discovering the name of his daughter’s project.

“He loves words and he liked the title, so when I was interviewing him as we wrapped up, he just threw it in there for me,” she joked. “I think he was doing this for me. I’m really happy with the interview with my dad because he’s great.”

In order to discover what makes Abbey Road Studios one of the most well-known and enduring studios in the world, If These Walls Could Sing takes viewers through nine decades of music.

Mary won’t soon forget the project, which features interviews with various performers including Sir Elton John, Ringo Starr, Roger Waters, and others.

“It was good, but I have to say it was nerve wracking because I’ve never done it before,” Mary told. “I’m just going with all of these adventures I’m being asked to go on. Creatively, it has been such a learning curve, but I love it and want to do more.”

Disney+ will debut If These Walls Could Sing on December 16.
