In the conversation, 47-year-old Chalsea Handler used the example of her “last relationship” as one of her “seminal” or “now what” moments.

“I was positive that this was my man. Oh my god, I’ve won, I thought. like I’ve got it all. I have my family, my work, respect, a large circle of friends, and all of these things. I then believed that this was the person I would spend the rest of my life with “She went on to say that the connection had even altered her perception of marriage.

She continued, “I’m not that opposed to the concept of getting married, but I was open to the idea, and we absolutely talked about it extensively since it was significant to him. “And then, as the relationship was coming to an end, it just became obvious that this was not my person.”

“Simply put, there were several behaviours on which we couldn’t agree. I felt as though I would have to give up on myself, which I would have been willing to do if I had been 20 or 25, but I wasn’t. I was not going to give up on myself no matter how much I loved this person — and I loved him so much “Shields was told by Handler.

“I’m not going to act differently just to make you feel more at ease. I had to leave a relationship that I truly thought would last forever because I’m not doing that “stated the handler That was challenging, then.

Nearly 20 years ago, a mutual friend introduced Handler and Koy, both 51, to one another. Later, Koy continued to make frequent appearances on Chelsea Lately, Handler’s previous E! programme. In September 2021, the couple announced their romance to the public.

Handler shared a video on Instagram on July 18 that was supposed to be posted on the couple’s anniversary to announce their breakup.

Shields heard her say, “It was painful beyond belief, but it was also intolerable. This cannot happen, I said. Our relationship just deteriorated because we couldn’t agree on a circumstance or several situations. I believed therapy could help, but it didn’t, and I tried every solution I could think of before realising it was pointless.”

Handler said that she hasn’t spoken to Koy in a while and that “stepping away from him was one of the most hardest things that I have ever had to do.”

She added, “I don’t think we can have a friendship until there’s some accountability and some blame accepted because it was absolutely ludicrous. There has to be some accountability… from him about what happened.

We had a really amazing friendship, and I would want to have that again, you know, but I don’t see that happening without a few moves in the correct direction. When asked about his breakup from Handler earlier this year, Koy told Entertainment Tonight, “I’ll always champion for her.”
