Saturday Night Live (SNL) created a sketch based on a movie, but this one seems to be one of their most extreme interpretations, and it was actually rather entertaining.

Austin Butler, the show’s host, demonstrated that he had overcome his shyness as a child by performing his sketches flawlessly. In “A Christmas Epiphany,” Butler performed his best Jimmy Stewart impression as he lived his own version of It’s a Wonderful Life during the holiday season.

Butler portrayed a man who, after leaving a pub intoxicated on Christmas, realised that his life was all about work and booze and that perhaps he actually did want to start a family.

When the bartender (Mikey Day), who is attempting to watch out for Rich (Butler), follows him out of the pub and declines to let him drive home because he believes he has lost the only love he will ever have, Rich (Butler) leaves on his own.

During the walk, Rich discovers a window with a lovely family enjoying a holiday meal together. As he realizes he has no one to turn to, he starts to feel guilty about his actions and what has brought him to this point as a man. He is unaware that this family may see him through the glass.

Someone who is depressed and contemplating how their life is pointless and lonely because they don’t have a full family can frequently observe a warm and inviting family supper and be reminded of the true meaning of Christmas.

The family is obviously delighted because they are standing so close to the window, yet you just know someone is watching them. This family does, in fact.

When Butler arrives at their window to experience his epiphany, Heidi Gardner and Andrew Dismukes are two parents simply trying to enjoy dinner with their children. However, when they fully recognize Butler, they begin to argue because Dismukes won’t step outside and tell Butler to leave.

When Rich is finally greeted by Jimbo again, it turns out that he is an angel. The fight has been cutting back and forth between the family and Rich having an emotional time throughout the holiday.

Just as the family believes they are safe, Jimbo is standing in their window and he knows they can see him. Rich recognizes he still has a chance to have a family and live his greatest life. I’m going to start picturing people peering into windows in future holiday movies now.
