Anupam Kher & Neena Gupta goes through an adventure in Shiv Shastri Balboa

Anupam Kher released the trailer for his upcoming film Shiv Shastri Balboa on his YouTube channel, on Tuesday.

Anupam is introduced in the nearly two-minute video not as a boxer but as someone who trained boxers who went on to win gold medals.

Anupam’s character Shiv Shankar Shastri, aka Shiv Shastri ‘Balboa,’ was seen in the video travelling to the United States to meet his son Jugal Hansraj and his family.

However, he gets dejected after realising that Jugal’s kids have no clue about the film Rocky, which he feels is a ‘philosophy’.

Anupam then meets Neena Gupta’s character, who wishes to visit India after being away for eight years. Shiv agrees to assist her, and they embark on a journey during which Neena loses her passport and belongings.

The two meet Sharib Hashmi, the owner of a convenience store, and begin working at a petrol pump. Anupam and Neena have some fun as well, going to pubs and bowling.

Things take a dark turn, however, when ‘wanted’ Neena is apprehended. She begs Anupam to assist her. Anupam, a Rocky fan, is next seen with a group of bikers.

He also joins Neena and the bikers on a road trip. The trailer concludes with Anupam visiting the Rocky Statue in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.

The unexpected road trip teaches an Indian retiree that it’s never too late to reinvent yourself.

Kishore Varieth produced the film, which was directed by Ajay Venugopalan. UFI Motion Pictures, Anupam Kher Studio, and Tarun Rathi are the producers.

The upcoming film will be released in theatres on February 10. Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Jugal Hansraj, Sharib Hashmi, and Nargis Fakhri star in the film.

Anupam recently revealed the film’s release date on Twitter, as well as the official poster. “The name of my next release film is – #ShivShastriBalboa! This is the story of an extraordinary personality of an ordinary person. It will make you laugh as well as awaken a beautiful feeling of confidence in your heart. Releasing on 10th February ONLY IN THEATRES! Jai Ho!” Anupam sent out a tweet.
