Lizzo pause vacation to clap back for body shaming

• Lizzo is taking some time out of her vacation to talk.
• About the expectations of beauty that are put on women and artists.
• She went into further detail in a protracted Instagram video on Friday.

Lizzo adding in the caption: “If we had to pay money for every comment we posted on social media maybe people would think before they type.”

Lizzo declared to her followers, “The discourse around bodies is officially weary,” while standing in front of a tropical, beachside vista while wearing a multicolored, two-piece bathing suit.

“I have seen comments go from: Oh my my, I liked you when you were heavy,” the 34-year-old musician remarked. From “Oh my gosh, why did you get a BBL [Brazilian butt lift]?” to “Why did you lose weight? I used to appreciate your body, but now I think you’re just too huge. From “Oh my god, you’re so little,” to “You need to reduce weight, but for your health.” You need to obtain some titties or ass, or ‘Oh my God, how did she get all that work done?’ Simply said, it’s too much labour.

Then, she inquired, “Are we alright? Observe the illusion, do you? Do we understand that artists aren’t here to meet your criteria of beauty? The goal of artists is to create art.

She spoke candidly on feeling confident in her own skin in spite of what naysayers have to say when interviewed for the cover story of the Women Changing the World issue.

“I think my body is incredibly hot! She told  in March, “I’m a body icon, and I’m embracing that more and more every day. It might not be everyone’s ideal body type, much as Kim Kardashian, for example, might not be everyone’s ideal, but she is a body symbol and has established a contemporary beauty standard. And I’m using my confidence and authority to establish my own definition of beauty. And eventually, that will simply be the norm.
