Miley Cyrus announces new single ‘Flowers’ during new year

After a commercial break, a clip of  Miley Cyrus striding down a street played, followed by the announcement. The “Prisoner” singer appeared in the video wearing a gold tiny dress that showed her tummy while a preview of the new song played.

Online rumor regarding new Cyrus music first surfaced in November, following the singer’s studio reunion with Mike WiLL Made-It, with whom she previously collaborated on her 2013 fourth studio album Bangerz.

Hip-hop group Rae Sremmurd posted a number of images from a studio session where Cyrus appeared to be recording new music at the moment on Instagram. The post’s caption read, “EAR DRUMMERS & HEAD BANGERZ!”

In the pictures, Mike, 33, Swae Lee, and Slim Jxmmi of Rae Sremmurd, who are also signed to Mike’s EarDrummers Entertainment brand, could be seen talking with Cyrus while she sang and held a microphone.

Mike left a comment on the article using the “I love you” hand sign, an ear, a drum, and a globe emojis. A screenshot posted by Pop Crave indicates that he also reposted the post on his Instagram Story, indicating a release date with the hashtag “2023.”

Over the years, Cyrus has released seven studio albums: Meet Miley Cyrus in 2007, Breakout in 2008, Can’t Be Tamed in 2010, and Bangerz from 2013, Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz from 2015, Younger Now from 2017, and Plastic Hearts from 2020.

The singer has also put out two EPs, Time of Our Lives from 2009 and She Is Coming from 2019, as well as a live album called Attention: Miley Live, which will be published in April 2022.

Since breaking into the music market as a kid in the 2000s, Cyrus, who is known for her constantly shifting musical tastes, has put out dozens of successful singles. Among many others, some of her well-known songs are “See You Again,” “The Climb,” “Party in the U.S.A.,” “Wrecking Ball,” “Slide Away,” and “Midnight Sky.”

The Best of Both Worlds and Nobody’s Perfect from Hannah Montana, “On a Roll” and “Right Where I Belong” from Black Mirror, and “The Best of Both Worlds” and “Nobody’s Perfect” from Hannah Montana, among others, were all songs that Cyrus released through characters she played on television.

The second iteration of Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party took place on Saturday night. In 2021, she and Pete Davidson co-hosted the special for the first time.

Latto, Liily, FLETCHER, Rae Sremmurd, and Sia performed, and Chloe Fineman, Sarah Sherman, and the comedy group Please Don’t Destroy also made an appearance.
