Priscilla Presley mourns loss of daughter Lisa Marie at memorial service

Priscilla Presley 77-year-old actress and businesswoman took the podium after Jerry Schilling’s remarks. She started by saying, “I am going to read something that my granddaughter wrote for all of you, and this says it all.

“I do not know how to describe my mum in words. Actually, there are far too many. Mama was my icon, my role model, and my superhero – in much more ways than one,” Priscilla remarked. Lisa Marie Presley was an icon, a role model, and a superhero to many people all over the world. “Even now, I am unable to convey all that has to be comprehended.

She then spoke a poem on Lisa Marie’s life, titled “The Old Soul.” She arrived in our world in 1968, exhausted, frail, yet strong. Despite her fragility, she was vibrant. She was aware that she would not stay long, Priscilla stated. “Childhood goes by, and I catch a glimpse of her emerald eyes. After that, she started her own family. Then her second kid was born, which made her wonder whether “this is the angel that takes me home.”

The poem continued, “‘Time, of course, flew by. It was time for a tragedy. She knew it was close to the end. Survivor’s guilt, some would say, but a broken heart was the doing of her death.

It is with a heavy heart that I must deliver the devastating news that my beloved daughter Lisa Marie has left us, said Priscilla, 77, who confirmed the news in a statement.

“I have never met a lady who was as passionate, strong, and loving as she was. We need discretion as we attempt to cope with this tragic loss, “She went on. “Thank you for your prayers and love. No more commentary will be made at this time.”

The singer-songwriter leaves behind her mother, Riley Keough, 33, Finley and Harper Lockwood, twins, 14, and a granddaughter in addition to her three daughters. Benjamin Keough, Lisa Marie’s son, died before her in 2020 when he committed suicide at the age of 27.

Her final resting place will be at Graceland next to her son Benjamin, according to daughter Riley’s representative.

Lisa Marie will join her son at the Meditation Garden — which is also the final resting place of Elvis, Elvis’ mother Gladys Presley, Elvis’ father Vernon Presley and Elvis’ grandmother Minnie Mae Presley.
