Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are ready to shift away from making documentaries about themselves and towards rom-coms, according to reports

The couple has a multi-million dollar deal with Netflix and released their controversial self-titled series about their time in the royal family at the end of last year.

They made several allegations against the royals, including Harry’s claim that Prince William screamed and shouted at him during the so-called Sandringham summit.

They also starred in a Netflix documentary series called Live To Lead, which looked at influential leaders and how they helped to change the world.

According to a source, the couple is ready to move away from making shows about themselves and now has “fun” TV series in the works – though they won’t be appearing in them, allowing them to continue working on other projects.

“There will be a greater emphasis on fictional, scripted content,” a source told The Telegraph.

“It will be rom coms, feel good and light-hearted programmes.”

Meghan has previously stated her love of romcoms, claiming she has watched When Harry Met Sally “a million times” and is a huge Julia Roberts fan.

When asked about the ideal project for Archewell last year, she cryptically told Variety magazine: “People love love. That sentiment is not unique to me. And our definition of love is quite broad: partner love, self-love, community and family love.

“We use that as the baseline of the kind of shows and documentaries we want out there.”

It comes after a PR expert claimed Harry and Meghan’s recent controversial Netflix docuseries may not have been “what they were hoping for”.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that two key players would be leaving Harry and Meghan’s Archewell foundation.
