Lenny Kravitz sang “Calling All Angels” at the 95th Academy Awards on Sunday as part of the tribute to deceased actors Ray Liotta, Angela Lansbury, James Caan, Raquel Welch, Kirstie Alley, Robbie Coltrane, Louise Fletcher, Burt Bacharach, and others. See the complete section here.

In his opening remarks, John Travolta honored Olivia Newton-John, his late co-star from the movie Grease, who passed away in August at the age of 73.

The 69-year-old Travolta remarked, “In our business, we have the unique pleasure of getting to do what we love for a living, and sometimes getting to do it with people we come to love. “It is only fair that we honor those who have passed away who dedicated their lives to their profession, both in front of and behind the camera, as tonight is a celebration of the work and achievements of our community and this past year. Each of them left a unique and lasting impression through their incomparable contributions that shared and educated us.”

“They have moved us emotionally. They have brought us joy and grown into good friends to whom we will always be dedicated, “Travolta continued while breaking down in tears.

After hearing of Newton-passing John’s in August, Travolta shared a heartfelt remembrance of her, acknowledging her “amazing” influence.

He once commented an old photo of Newton-John, “My lovely Olivia, you made all of our lives so much better. “Your influence was tremendous. I adore you a lot. When we are all back together, we will see each other again. From the first minute I saw you, you were all mine. Your John and your Danny!”

Liotta, 67, passed away unexpectedly in May. He just had an appearance in the movie Cocaine Bear. During his last month’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, his daughter Karsen, 24, remarked: “I am incredibly proud of him. He was the best friend, brother, and father anyone could have asked for in addition to being a one-of-a-kind performer. I got lucky finding you.”

On Sunday, March 12 at 8 p.m. ET, ABC will broadcast a live broadcast of the Oscars.
