Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor’s “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar” crosses 100 cr

The domestic box office for Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, has surpassed $100 crore nett. Luv Ranjan’s quirky romantic comedy, which has been in theatres for 11 days, has accomplished the accomplishment. It is the sixth movie starring Ranbir and Shraddha to gross over $100 million in India.

The movie has already made over 122 crore at the global ticket office. Produced by Luv Films and Ankur Garg, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar is presented by Gulshan and Bhushan Kumar of T-Series. Dimple Kapadia, Boney Kapoor, and stand-up comedian Anubhav Singh Bassi are also featured in the film.

After his previous blockbuster Brahmastra – Part One: Shiva, which went on to become the top grossing Bollywood movie of 2022, Ranbir now has two straight hits with Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. The domestic ticket office took in 257 crore. Sanju, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, and Barfi are the other four films that Ranbir Kapoor has that have grossed over 100 crores. Animal, which also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, and Bobby Deol, recently saw the end of his filming.

Shraddha had previously produced five films that grossed over 100 crores, including Ek Villain, ABCD 2, Stree, Saaho, and Chhichhore. Shraddha starred alongside Varun Dhawan in Bhediya last year, but the film underperformed. She is currently working on Scene 2.

Shraddha described her performance in Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar as “refreshing”. It’s such a different character from what I’ve portrayed in Aashiqui 2 and other films after that, she said in an interview with PTI. She is a lady who is more assertive, proactive, and self-assured. It was energising for me to portray a character who expresses her emotions. She is the neighbour girl with a little “tadka” (spice). For me, it was a first.
