Suniel Shetty has expressed his thanks for the fact that production on Hera Pheri will now start alongside Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar. Videos of Akshay filming with Paresh and Suniel recently appeared online, however it was then made clear that he had simply been shooting for the movie’s trailer. Last year, Akshay declared that he would not be appearing in the upcoming installment of the successful comedy series.
Suniel recently posted a lengthy social media article explaining how decisions made during the filmmaking process are often more about the business of filmmaking than they are about the actors and other creatives involved.

Suniel stated on Linkedin: “So it’so, then this is that’so, then this is that’so, then this is that’so awaiting returning to the set with Pareshji and Akki (Akshay). Although it took some time, like with many good things, it’s a relief to finally know the solution to this query! Despite how much our culture depends on movies, few people are aware of how they are made. In addition to creative difficulties, the movie industry has similar difficulties as other businesses due to its needs and financial strategy.”

He continued by saying that a significant portion of the filmmaking process involves business and finance. “Every business must have a good idea, thorough market research, a great business plan, a capable team, timely funding, and a robust distribution network in order to flourish. The movie industry isn’t all that different. It would be overly simplistic to attempt to explain the entire movie industry here. So, let’s just say that having a strong story, a talented cast, and a director is really just the beginning. There is also movie finance. Typically, studios or production companies invest their own money. Before determining the budget, their teams evaluate the viability of a project.”

Said he, “Some big-budget movies are funded by pre-sales and distribution agreements, when the film’s distribution rights are sold in advance to distributors and/or streaming services. The size of the film, as well as the relationships and resources available to the producers and investors involved, all affect access to financing, just like in the startup world. Distribution is another important factor in the movie industry. It’s a multi-layered process with producers, distributors, and exhibitors at the top.”

Suniel written extensively about film monetisation and covered topics including marketing, TV, OTT, and music rights, among others.

He ended by saying, “As an additional source of income or occasionally to help defray some of the pre-release marketing costs, many movies also partner with businesses for in-film placements or co-marketing initiatives. The movie industry is complicated by a plethora of additional factors, including consumer preferences, data and insights, intellectual property rights and licenses, pre- and post-production, line production, permissions, promotions, pricing, and many more. I still don’t have it figured out after 33 years and 125 movies, but I’ll keep improving.”

Farhad Samji is in charge of directing Hera Pheri 3. For the third installment of the successful comedy franchise, Kartik Aaryan has also been enlisted. Priyadarshan, who also served as director of the first film in the series, released it in 2000. It featured Tabu and Om Puri and was a remake of the 1989 Malayalam movie Ramji Rao Speaking. Phir Hera Pheri by Neeraj Vohra was published in 2006.
