One year after her defamation battle with ex-husband Johnny Depp, Amber Heard is confident about her Hollywood comeback with the film In the Fire.

Heard went under the radar for a few months after losing the verdict in court, as she relocated to Spain.

The two ex-wives have put the terrible defamation trial behind them and are moving on with their lives.

Throughout the trial, Heard received death threats and became the target of harsh Internet memes. “She just needed to get out of the country,” a source close to the Aquaman actress, 37, claimed. “It felt like there was too much chaos.”

After relocating to Madrid and settling into a life with her two-year-old daughter, Oonagh Paige (the father of whom she has never revealed), she “has new energy and is focused on things that she loves,” according to a source.

Along with In the Fire, Heard will reprise her role as Mera in the December release of the superhero sequel Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

Both films were shot before to the trial, and while she has not booked any job since, “she is hopeful she will get projects,” according to a Heard source who claims she was stressed even after the conviction. “She is doing so much better now.”

Last month, the actress made her first formal appearance since the trial at the Taormina Film Festival in Sicily for the premiere of her new film.

“It’s a beautiful movie about the almost supernatural effect and force of love,” Heard said at the event to People Magazine. “I don’t want to sound too corny, but it’s a love story.”
