Vivek Oberoi has once again landed in hot waters as Mumbai Police have fined him for violating coronavirus and traffic rules.

‘Saathiya’ actor was spotted riding a bike with his wife without a helmet and a face mask on February 14. He shared a video of the ride on Valentine’s Day.

Social media users criticized him for violating traffic rules and not wearing a mask when coronavirus pandemic is still prevailing. According to the local sources, “Mumbai Police took action against the actor and an E-Challan was generated against him by Santacruz division. Santacruz traffic police issued an e-challan to Vivek for Rs. 500 for not wearing a helmet. The e-challan was issued on Friday at 7.02 pm by Assistant Inspector Nandkishore Jadhav.”

An FIR was registered against the actor at Juhu Police Station in Mumbai on February 19 for not wearing a mask. Police went to record his statement on Friday but they found that Vivek is currently in Delhi.

Earlier, Vivek’s Mumbai house was raided by Bengaluru police.

As per the sources, the raid was thought to have been conducted to track his brother-in-law in connection with the ongoing Sandalwood drugs case.

Maharashtra Congress general secretary and spokesperson Sachin Sawant had claimed in a series of tweets that the Central investigating agencies could have shielded Oberoi and Sandip Ssingh.

He tweeted, “I had demanded with NCB to investigate the BJP Drug connection in Bollywood. In my questions to NCB, I had specifically mentioned the name of Aditya Alva found in the Sandalwood drug racket who is the brother-in-law of Vivek Oberoi who is a partner of Sandeep Ssingh. But NCB didn’t pay heed.”
