Hansal Mehta says ‘good Samaritans’ ensured daughter’s return

He claimed his daughter’s flight arrangements were made hours later. Kimaya and Rehana are the daughters of Hansal and his wife Safeena Husain.

The filmmaker tweeted on Friday, “Daughter’s travel sorted thanks to some good Samaritans. Deleted my tweet. Thank you to all those who called and tweeted to help.” Hansal Mehta had earlier tweeted, “Need help urgently. My daughter is in Bali on a school trip and has lost her OCI (Overseas Citizenship of India) card. She needs to travel back to India tomorrow or might get stranded. Please help @DrSJaishankar.”

Some Twitter users had tried to assist Hansal and had given him some tips on how to make sure his daughter returned to India safely. “Kindly contact the hon’ble vice consul for the consular and administration of the Consulate General of India, Bali, Indonesia at +62 81139 90996, via WhatsApp Messenger, please,” responded a person to the filmmaker’s tweet asking for help. Another Twitter user had tagged the official spokesperson of the ministry of external affairs, and written, “Could you please help.”

In London, Hansal has been filming his upcoming movie with Kareena. This movie’s specifics and title have been kept a secret. During the filming in the UK, Jehangir Ali Khan, Kareena’s son, who will play a detective in the thriller, accompanied her. In the meantime, Hansal made headlines recently after a Twitter user said that he “gave Kangana Ranaut a flop film.” The director responded by making fun of the actor’s most recent picture, Dhaakad.

Kangana Ranaut was starred by Hansal in Simran (2017). Since then, he has referred to working with the actor as a “huge mistake.” A Twitter user had commented on his tweet from September on Brahmastra’s huge ticket sales and long lines outside theatres by saying, “Shame on you. Kangana received a bad movie thanks to you, Hansal had replied.  “Yeah. I shouldn’t have made Dhaakad.”
