Karisma Kapoor resumes acting after three years

After three years, Karisma Kapoor returns to acting in her second web series with Brown. The actor will play Rita Brown, a recovering alcoholic Kolkata police officer, in the dark drama. She made her film debut as a teenager and took a break from acting in the middle of the 2000s to raise her children Samiera and Kiaan. The performer recently discussed how much more difficult it was to launch careers and gain attention during her time.

She made her acting debut at the age of 17 in the 1991 romance Prem Qaidi. She immediately signed on for numerous other significant productions, including Sapne Sajan Ke (1992), Jigar (1992), Raja Babu (1994), Andaz (1994), Coolie No. 1 (1995), and Hero No. 1 (1995), all of which were box office successes (1997). She won multiple acting awards, including the Filmfare and National Film Awards, with the movies Raja Hindustani (1996) and Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), making her one of the top actors in the Hindi cinema business.

In an interview, the actor was asked which of her roles was a favourite, but she was unable to decide. She viewed each of her films as a career stepping stone. She explained to Film Companion, “Today you are so easily recognised with Instagram and social media. We had to slog it out to get noticed. Every movie, be it, a hit, a blockbuster, a flop or meaningful cinema, everything contributed to my career.”

She added, “I enjoyed doing all my David Ji (David Dhawan) movies as much as I enjoyed working with Yash Ji (Yash Chopra) and Shyam Ji (Shyam Benegal). It was a different time and I was say each movie was special.”

Both of Karisma‘s parents, Randhir and Babita Kapoor, are actresses. Kareena Kapoor, her younger sister, is also an actor. Karisma and Kareena both post frequently to Instagram, giving followers a peek into their daily lives. They also give updates on the broader Kapoor family and their legendary Sunday meals.

The actor recently appeared as a single mother in the web series Mentalhood in 2020. Later this year, the Abhinay Deo-directed film Brown is scheduled to have its debut.
