  • The annual Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lighting didn’t include Savannah Guthrie.
  • The 50-year-old co-host of Today sent a photo to Instagram on Wednesday showing her clutching a thermometer that read 101.8 degrees before the 8 p.m. premiere of NBC’s Christmas in Rockefeller Center spectacular.

Guthrie accompanied the image with the caption, “UGH – flu or something similar since Monday.” “Missing TODAY and the tree lighting makes me very sad. I hope it does so quickly!”

She was set to co-host the special with Hoda Kotb, Craig Melvin, and Mario Lopez and stated that she would “miss everyone” but that she would “be watching.”

Ryan Tedder, the lead singer of OneRepublic, sent Guthrie his best wishes “I have the SAME influenza. and the same temperature.”

Additionally, her Today family sent their love.

Writing as Kristen Welker, “Oh my God, I’m sorry! It won’t be the same without you, so get well soon!” Sheinelle Jones said, ” “Oh no 😢 Love you and praying that you recover quickly.”

After being released from the hospital the day after Thanksgiving, Al Roker “Rushed” back there.
Not only Guthrie but several Today stars skipped the yearly gathering.

Al Roker, who hasn’t appeared on the NBC morning show in four weeks, was unable to attend this year’s tree-lighting ceremony because he is still healing from blood clots in his leg and lungs that required hospitalisation earlier this month. One day after being released from the hospital, he was quickly brought back.

Following his absence from the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Spectacle last week, which marked his first absence from the venerable parade in 27 years, Roker is now present.

Thursday’s 96th annual parade was broadcast on NBC, and Roker’s colleagues morning show hosts texted him good vibes throughout the broadcast.

Al Roker, a colleague on the Today show and a close friend of ours, has been our go-to man for the past 27 parades, according to Kotb. “Al is, as many of you have heard, making a full recovery from a recent medical problem. We only want to express our affection for Al. We’re unsure if you’re looking, but we want to wish you a speedy recovery.”
