It makes Timothée Chalamet feel excluded. The Oscar contender, 27, is featured in a new ad campaign for Apple TV+ in which he watches several of the streaming service’s most well-liked and acclaimed recent movies while wondering why he hasn’t been cast there yet.

The Dune actor remarks, “I was in two Best Picture nominees last year,” as he and a pal watch Academy Award-winning CODA in a theatre.

Later, Chalamet is shown watching Selena Gomez’s documentary Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me and Jennifer Lawrence’s film Causeway on an iPad as his car passes adoring admirers, leading him to question why he does not have his own documentary on the platform.

In the advertisement, the actor is also seen debating a move to television while stating that he could play the lead in the recent hits on Apple TV+, Ted Lasso, Severance, and Black Bird.

Jason Momoa, Chalamet’s co-star from the Dune film, later FaceTimes in for the new role while announcing that Chief of War, his own Apple TV+ series, is now complete. This made Chalamet realize that he was the only major actor without a role on the streaming service, despite the fact that it seems like every other celebrity in Hollywood does.

“Wait, you have a new Apple show?” Chalamet asks Momoa, who replies, “At this point, who doesn’t?”

“Yeah, I mean, who doesn’t at this point? Like you just said…” Chalamet replies.

The advertisement closes with Chalamet learning that Apple even signed Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro, and his mentor Leonardo DiCaprio for the upcoming film Killers of the Flowers. The actor from Bones and All then rolls over into his bed and asks Apple to contact him.

In January 2022, the streaming service launched a parallel ad campaign with Jon Hamm, who also inquires as to why Apple TV+ has not yet cast him in a role. Hamm, 51, has subsequently been cast with Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston in the third season of The Morning Show.
