The Other Two achieved sudden stardom when it premiered on Comedy Central in 2019 to positive reviews and a sizable audience, much like the youngest member of the Dubek family. The comedy series was later relocated to HBO Max when the adult-oriented cable channel chose to venture outside of its normal scripted shows and has since grown to be one of the platform’s most well-liked programs. Three years after Cary earned a lead role in an independent movie at the height of the pandemic, Vanity Fair has released the first official photos of the cast in advance of Season 3’s premiere on May 4.

The pictures didn’t give away much about what the Dubek siblings may expect from Season 3, but they did show Cary looking more like a celebrity after getting a part in an independent movie. The comedy series has gained more followers after Season 2 debuted on HBO Max in 2021 thanks to the transition from cable to streaming services. The comedy television show was created and is executive produced by former Saturday Night Live head writers Chris Kelly and Sarah Schneider. It centers on Chase Dubek (Case Walker), also known as Chase Dreams, a typical 13-year-old whose life is turned upside down when his viral video goes from 0-100 overnight and catapults him to internet fame.

However, the “other two” fame-hungry siblings, former professional dancer Brooke (Heléne Yorke) and aspiring gay actor Cary (Drew Tarver), struggle to establish their reputations while coping with the fact that their 13-year-old younger brother will be retiring at the age of 14, while they are still trying to find their place in the world. The television show puts a humorous spin on the entertainment industry, highlighting the touching yet amusing tale of fame-hungry people trying their best to become famous by any means necessary, including exploiting themselves. They want to prove that they are more than just “the other two” in the family.

Another family member, their mother Pat (Molly Shannon), had her name shot to popularity as well, and the other two are of course coming up with a chaotic plan as Chase had to experience it overnight. As they set out on a quest for fame, they quickly come to regret the entire experience.

Even so, Season 2 ends with both Cary and Brooke succeeding in their own fields—acting Cary’s career beginning to take off, and Brooke taking on the role of family manager—so it was still worth a shot for them. But celebrity does have a cost, and as their careers advance, viewers can anticipate more mayhem and disputes between the siblings when Season 3 of the show debuts on HBO Max on May 4.
