A man on Thursday has been arrested in Saudi Arabia for allegedly attacking a guard “with sharp tool” at the Jeddah’s French consulate.
According to the state media’s reports, a Saudi citizen wounded a guard at the French consulate with a knife but did not give any details about the victim’s nationality.
On the other hand, the embassy had said that the guard “was taken to hospital and his life is not in danger”.
They added,
“The assailant was apprehended by Saudi security forces immediately after the attack.”
The French consulate also urged the citizens of the Saudi Kingdom to exercise “extreme vigilance”.
It is pertinent to mention here that the incident at the French consulate in Jeddah happened almost after another stabbing attack in the French city Nice.
Two people were killed and a woman beheaded by an attacker at a church in France on Thursday. As per the details, the attack took place in the French city of Nice.
Mayor Christian Estrosi said on Twitter the knife attack had happened in or near the city’s Notre Dame church and that police had detained the attacker.
Police said three people were confirmed to have died in the attack and several were injured.
