Kabul: Several people were killed in an explosion that rocked an Afghan high school in the west of Kabul on Tuesday.
Shia Hazara, an ethnic and religious minority frequently targeted by Sunni terrorist groups, including ISIS, is prevalent in the neighborhood.
Kabul commander’s spokesman Khalid Zadran: “Three blasts have taken place … in a high school, there are some casualties to our Shia people.”
At least four people were killed and 14 were injured in the explosions, according to the head of a hospital’s nursing department, who refused to be identified.
Violence has been on the downswing since last year’s withdrawal of foreign forces, which sparked a lull in violence during the cold winter months.
