Approximately 30 Palestinians, including three journalists, were hurt as Israeli soldiers entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem.
According to journalists on the scene, Palestinians threw stones at Israeli police, who were clad in full riot gear and stormed the compound firing rubber bullets and stun grenades.

According to the Palestinian Red Crescent, 31 Palestinians were hurt, with 14 of them being brought to the hospital for treatment. One police officer was hurt after being struck by a stone, according to Israeli authorities.
Israeli authorities blamed Palestinians for throwing rocks and said that they entered the property after early morning prayers had ended.
Following a series of attacks inside Israel and police raids in the West Bank, which Israel unlawfully occupies, the holy site has been the focus of days of violence.

President of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, claimed Israel was to blame for the escalation in occupied East Jerusalem and the occupied West Bank during a meeting with a US State Department delegation on Thursday.
Later in the day, tens of thousands of Muslims are expected to gather at Al-Aqsa for Friday prayers.
Visits by Jewish groups have been halted for the last ten days of Ramadan, the Muslim holy month.
This year’s fasting month fell on the same day as the Jewish Passover and significant Christian celebrations, attracting tens of thousands of people from all three faiths to Jerusalem’s Old City.
