Russia has been accused of genocide after mass graves were discovered and remains of slain citizens were discovered scattered over roadways

RUSSIA was accused of genocide today, after the remains of slain citizens were found scattered over the streets and mass graves were filled.

On Sunday, at least 20 bodies, all dressed in civilian attire, were observed spanning a single street in the town of Bucha, near Irpin.

According to AFP journalists, at least nine of the dead seemed to have been executed, including two with their wrists bound behind their backs.

At least three of them were nude from the waist up, and another had his Ukrainian passport open beside him.

Today, President Volodymyr Zelensky said on CBS’s Face the Nation: “This is genocide in action. The annihilation of the entire nation and its inhabitants.

“We are Ukrainian citizens. We have about 100 different nationalities.

“This is about the annihilation and annihilation of all of these ethnicities.”

Anatoly Fedoruk, the mayor of Bucha, stated that “all of these people were shot,” adding that 280 more remains had been buried in mass graves across the city.

Meanwhile, a representative for Zelensky told the BBC: “It appears to be war crimes.

“We discovered mass graves. We discovered folks with their hands and legs bound… and bullets, gunshot wounds, in the back of their heads.

“They were obviously citizens who were executed.”

Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said today that the strikes be “investigated as war crimes,” emphasising that “we will not let Russia to cover up their role in these tragedies by cynical deception.”

“As Russian soldiers are forced to flee, we are witnessing greater proof of horrible deeds by the invading forces in cities such as Irpin and Bucha,” she added, referring to towns on the outskirts of Kyiv.

“During Russia’s unlawful and illegitimate invasion of Ukraine, their indiscriminate assaults on innocent civilians must be investigated as war crimes.”

The International Criminal Court in The Hague has already launched an investigation into suspected war crimes in Ukraine.

Several Western officials, including US President Joe Biden, have called Russian President Vladimir Putin a “war criminal.”

Human Rights Watch also stated that it has recorded examples of Russian forces perpetrating suspected war crimes against residents in the seized districts of Chernigiv, Kharkiv, and Kyiv, such as rape and summary execution.
