Vladimir Putin has ‘banned his daughter Dr Maria Vorontsova from leaving Russia’ due to concerns that she may not return

Dr Maria Vorontsova, Vladimir Putin’s oldest daughter, has reportedly been barred from leaving Russia due to worries that she will never return.

Dr. Vorontsova, who was born while her father was still a KGB agent, had planned to spend her 37th birthday on a tropical beach, but when she applied for permission to leave the country, “Putin responded with a categorical refusal, strengthening Maria’s security protection,” according to the General SVR Telegram channel.

“The president’s eldest daughter did not plan to return to Russia, according to our knowledge,” the as-yet unsubstantiated claim added.

Dr. Vorontsova and her Dutch ex-husband Jorrit Faassen, the son of a senior NATO military commander, have a kid together. Her new lover, Yevgeny Nagorny, is thought to have been helping her organise the getaway.

The 33-year-old was formerly an outspoken critic of Putin’s regime, but after dating the leader’s daughter, he has changed his mind, gaining a £90,000-a-year position and a sprawling luxurious mansion in exchange for his allegiance.

Dr. Vorontsova is a well-known researcher at Russia’s Ministry of Health’s National Medical Research Center for Endocrinology, specialising on genetic problems in children. As a result of her family’s ties to Putin, she has been sanctioned by Western countries.

Dr. Vorontsova had planned to develop a new ultra-modern medical centre outside St. Petersburg, but the project has been sunk due to Western sanctions over the Ukraine conflict.

According to Russian investigative journalist Sergey Kanev, “the goals were to recruit patients from Europe and wealthy sheikhs from the Persian Gulf countries.”
