Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, has instructed all relevant parties to take the required steps to close all businesses, shopping malls, markets, and food markets across the country at 8 p.m. daily, as per the Bangladesh news agency.

The Director General (Administration) Md. Ahsan Kibria Siddiqui of the Prime Minister’s Office issued the directive in a Friday evening memo.

Secretaries of concerned ministries and divisions, such as the public security division, commerce ministry, energy and mineral resources division, local government division, power division, industries ministry, Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments, and all divisional commissioners, deputy inspector generals of police, deputy commissioners, and superintendents of police in all divisions and districts have been instructed to strictly comply with the directive.
