- Indonesia’s President Joko Widodo will visit Moscow and Kyiv before the end of June.
- He will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Joko Widodo, president of Indonesia will travel to Moscow and Kyiv before the end of June to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, respectively, as per Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi’s Wednesday press briefing
Retno said Widodo will discuss the food situation caused by the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The “special visits” would show that Indonesia, which will host the Group of 20 (G20) Summit in November, was taking action to deal with the current political situation.

“We fully understand that the situation now is very complicated, and all of the countries in the world know that. Thus, through the visits, the president wants to contribute to overcoming the food crisis that has been caused by the war and has impacted the poor countries. The president wants to push for the spirit of peace,”Retno remarked.
She said that President Widodo would be the first leader from Southeast Asia to visit both countries since the conflict started in February.
Since then, the confrontation between Russia and Ukraine has persisted, causing widespread reports of an increase in global food and energy costs.
