A WOMAN accused with the slaying of a 57-year-old man in a peaceful village made an appearance in court today.

In Gwent, South Wales, Elliots Town, where Richard Ash was discovered to be unresponsive, police were called.

After the horrific incident, which happened about 12.30 am on Sunday, he couldn’t be saved and was later pronounced dead.

At Cardiff Crown Court today, Rebecca Louise Press, 31, was charged with murder.

On the same day, she is also charged with assaulting a lady.

Pink-haired Press only spoke during the hearing to reaffirm her name, date of birth, and residence.

Prior to a plea hearing on August 17 at the same court, she was remanded in detention.

said Gwent Police: “On Sunday, July 17, at around 0:30 am, officers were called to an address in Elliots Town, Caerphilly, after a male was discovered to be unconscious.

“Police officers and paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service arrived, and they confirmed that a 57-year-old male had passed away.

His next of kin have been informed, and they are receiving assistance from specialised officers.
