JEDDAH: More than 300 teams from across the world have been registered for Hajj and Umrah Challenge activities being held during the second edition of ‘Hajj Expo’ 2023.
The Hajj Expo, which started in Saudi port city of Jeddah and will continue until January 12, is being organized by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah
The purpose of the competition is to facilitate the transportation of elderly pilgrims from around the world to Makkah and Madinah, raise quality of services, and enhance their religious and historical experience under the ‘Saudi Vision 2030’.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced the closing of registration for the competition. The first phase began online from 4-5th January 2023, in which several workshops and sessions will be held.
This “Hajj and Umrah Challenge” competition provides an opportunity to participants to present their ideas to facilitate the Hajj and Umrah journey of pilgrims and provide them with the best services.
This is a chain of service provided by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul Aziz and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman.
The challenge focuses on facilitating the journey of pilgrims in seven ways – providing information on Hajj travel, accommodation, services for disabled, recycling waste, transferring goods and guiding missing persons.
The winning team will be chosen by a group of expert who will supervise the solution based on certain standards which include the use of emerging technologies and offering solutions that are easily accessible and financially viable.
This initiative is part of the “Hajj Expo” which discusses the quality of the Hajj and Umrah service system. The event will be held under the patronage of Prince Khalid Al Faisal, Governor of Makkah and Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
