The tragic incident occurred around 23:30 BST on Friday on Pomeroy Road.

Although immediate first aid was administered at the scene, sadly, the man did not survive, as confirmed by the police. The driver of the van sustained injuries but they are reported to be non-life threatening. They were transported to a hospital for medical attention.

The authorities have issued an appeal for information, urging anyone who may have observed a man walking along the Pomeroy Road shortly after 23:15 BST on Friday to come forward.
