Famed American journalist Tucker Carlson, known for his pro-Russian stance, has embarked on his first-ever visit to Moscow, triggering widespread speculation about a potential interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The 54-year-old, who had previously expressed a keen desire to interview Putin, found himself entangled in US intelligence surveillance during his efforts to arrange the meeting.

In response to inquiries during his visit to the Russian capital, Carlson maintained an air of mystery, responding with a smile, “We’ll see.” Despite the circulating rumors, there has been no definitive confirmation or denial from Carlson regarding the potential interview.

“I wanted to talk to [people] and walk around and see how it was doing. And it was doing very well,” Carlson shared with one of his fans in Moscow, as pictures and videos of his visit circulated on social media platforms.

Independent presidential candidate Robert Kennedy Jr. voiced support for Carlson, asserting that he “has every right to interview Putin” and emphasizing the need for increased transparency in the United States.

The Kremlin’s spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, addressed questions about the speculated interview, stating, “We can hardly be expected to provide information on the movement of foreign journalists,” while also noting that Russia welcomes the presence of foreign journalists.

A Telegram channel linked to Russia, The Mash, released a photo of Carlson attending the Spartacus ballet at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, adding another layer of intrigue to his visit.

Carlson, who abruptly departed from Fox News in April of the previous year, gained prominence in Russia for his repeated commentary on Moscow’s alleged involvement in US elections during Donald Trump’s presidency. He has also been a vocal critic of the West’s support for Ukraine, attributing the Russian military operation in Ukraine to the actions of US allies. Additionally, Carlson has expressed criticism towards Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky.

As the speculation around a potential interview with Putin continues, Carlson’s Moscow visit adds a new chapter to his already noteworthy career and contributions to the ongoing discourse on international relations.
