Police have arrested two accused of harassing a girl in a residential building near Essa Nagri area of Karachi.
A video was released on social media by a matriculation student in which she mentioned that some people had allegedly harassed her and other women.
“We were returning from somewhere when my sister was slapped by one person while my father was also slapped by another,” the girl said in the video.
She further revealed in the video that she was fed up with the situation and tried to commit suicide twice but survived both times.
The girl’s video went viral on social media, on which Sindh Governor Imran Ismail took notice and directed the police to take action.
He asked the assembly members of the area to contact the girl and help her. He also asked the IG Sindh to investigate the matter and provide protection to the girl and her family.
Police have arrested two men for allegedly harassing a girl by posing as a union member.
Police said that if the family members did not register a case, a case would be registered against the accused the police will lodge the complaint on the behalf of the government.
