While the minibuses of Karachi, the capital of Sindh province, are world famous for their dilapidated condition and overcrowded passengers, the city’s buses are also famous for their names and decorations.
W-11 is the most famous bus minibus in Karachi, which runs from New Karachi to Kemari in a city with a population of over 20 million.
This bus service was once known to run 24 hours a day.
The W-11 bus network has different owners and these minibuses are one of the longest running buses in Karachi.
And now the same bus will also be used for the enjoyment of the women of Karachi, through which the women who are interested in travel and tourism will be able to ride on the said bus and see the famous places of the city.
She Travel, a women’s travel and tourism service provider, has come up with a unique plan to entertain Karachi women every Sunday.
Every Sunday, the management of ‘She Travel’ will take the women of Karachi on a tour of the historical and entertainment places of the city by riding on W-11 decorated like a bride.
The management of ‘She Travel’ told in a program of private tv channel that initially only one W-11 bus was being provided to women in Karachi.
According to the administration, only women are allowed to travel under the scheme and a woman interested in tourism has to pay a fee of Rs 2,500.

The woman, who paid a fee of Rs 2,500, will be taken to historical and tourist sites in Karachi along with other women on W-11 and will be given breakfast while also being given the opportunity to ride a horse cart.
Initially only one W-11 bus is being operated, however, more than one bus can be operated as the number of female tourists increases.
A W11 bus carries 25 women and initially the women who come for tourism include young girls.
Apart from Karachi, She Travel Organization also provides travel and leisure opportunities to women’s groups in other tourist destinations of the country including Sindh province.
