Dr Moeed W Yusuf has been appointed as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on National Security Division and Strategic Policy Planning, here on Tuesday.
According to a notification issued by Prime Minister officee,Dr Moeed, who is an expert in international affairs, will hold the status of Minister of State.
Yusuf is the associate vice president at the Asia Center at the United States Institute of Peace (USIP). He also penned a book named Brokering Peace in Nuclear Environments: US Crisis Management in South Asia.

He was also appointed as a chairman of Strategic Policy Planning Cell (SPPC) under the National Security Division (NSD), back in October.
The special cell was formed to assist the government through research and draft policy recommendations on national issues.
Yusuf also thanks on Twitter to the prime minister of Pakistan and the leadership of ruling PTI for entrusting him with “even greater responsibility”.
