Women are attracted to masculine, bearded faces- but some find beards less attractive maybe because they think beard shelter lice and bugs, a new study suggests.
A quiz was conducted among 1000 women in the United States of America and suggested that men with beard emanate more masculinity with greater social and physical dominance.
But they may have good hygiene issues- women who think that beards harbor fleas and lice didn’t like hairy faces.
However, women who admire clean-shaven faces were also found to have a dread of parasites and lice.
Another research has been conducted at the University of Queensland in Australia, where researchers have shown 30 images of men with a full beard or clean-shaven to about 919 American women aged from 18 to 70.
The result claimed that men with beard, solid jawline, wide cheekbones, and protruding brow ridge are more masculine and attractive.
What Does Facial Hair and Masculinity Signify About A Man?
Studies led by the University of Queensland on what does the facial masculinity reveals about a man, have shown that beard shows physical strength, masculinity, loyalty, aggressiveness, and social dominance.
Women also judge the attractiveness of men for short term and long-term relationships by other masculine features along with beards like broad jaw, deeper eyes, and wide cheekbones.
Some women did not like bearded men because they are disgusted by skin parasites. They think beards indicate poor grooming habits.
While women who had parasites preferred a clean-shaven man.
